Overall Purpose of the Role
The EMEA content marketing team are responsible for the development and roll-out of marketing campaigns across local & global general entertainment content for Disney+ in EMEA. The focus, and measurement of success, is to drive awareness of our content to new & existing customers, engage our existing customers and drive acquisition of Disney+.
Reporting to the Director of Content Marketing, this role will manage a marketing team responsible for creating and executing campaigns for local originals in the UK, including scripted and unscripted titles (e.g. Rivals, A Thousand Blows, The Rooneyβs and Blind Date) from greenlight through to launch. In addition, this role works closely with key EMEA markets on the launch of their local original content, providing creative & strategic leadership and managing regional and global relationships.
This role will build & manage excellent relationships with the EMEA scripted and unscripted commissioning teams, US content teams, Hulu marketing teams, D+ International marketing teams, external production companies and creative agencies.
This individual will will work closely with the other Senior Content Marketing Manager in the team, who is responsible for global general entertainment. They will collaborate with teams across Disney+ (including PR, social, UK marketing, research, performance, creative, brand, analytics etc) to ensure cohesive, industry-leading, innovative content campaigns to drive key KPIβs.
Areas of Responsibility
STRATEGIC MARKETING & PLANNING
- Work with the Content Marketing Director to define the marketing strategy for EMEA local content; setting goals, positioning and identifying key opportunities.
- Oversee EMEA and UK budget for local original marketing production, including yearly forecasting, project allocation and tracking, ensuring team deliver within set budgets.
- Manage campaign leads in the campaign planning milestone process for their titles, overseeing strategy development and insights, ensuring collaboration across functions to deliver effective and innovative campaign plans local UK Originals.
- Build strong relationships with local EMEA markets, provide leadership & sign off during their campaign development and ensure all markets are delivering strategic, insight driven content campaigns.
- Work closely with the US and global content and marketing teams (D+ and Hulu) to drive awareness and support of EMEA content globally.
END TO END CREATIVE DEVELOPMENT
- Inspire and manage campaign leads to develop and deliver industry leading, original, innovative and disruptive creative for local content (e.g. AV, static, social, in-service and campaign assets).
- Ensure all campaign are delivered withing budget, timings are managed and oversee and sign of all creative briefs.
- Lead relationships with external agencies and internal creative team, ensuring creative excellence and delivering industry leading creative.
- Lead the team to coordinate marketing shoots (static and AV) as well as the delivery of on-set material during the production (including photography, social and EPK) leaning on creative and production agencies as well as unit publicists and photographers.
RELATIONSHIPS
- Lead all relationships with production companies to help deliver key marketing requirements. Build strong relationships with these production partners, sharing and presenting campaign plans and creative development.
- Develop strong relationships with Disney commissioning and original productions teams, attending all creative meetings, provide timely and relevant updates on Disney+ marketing activity and being a trusted source of information for all teams.
- Build relationships with all Disney+ regional functions in EMEA, key marketing teams across EMEA and with the key US teams across the various studios.
Lead a team
- Lead, inspire and energise a team of 5 (with 4 direct reports), overseeing performance and development
- Alongside Marketing Director and Senior Manager (Global) manage resource of wider team (11 in total) to ensure work is evenly distributed and projects are all supported awards
Experience and Professional Qualifications Required
- Proven marketing experience (8+ years), within the entertainment industry, working on content marketing campaigns.
- Experience leading and managing a team, with proven experience developing and managing performance a must.
- Experience managing a high volume of campaign types in parallel, identifying scale and efficiency, while collaborating with diverse, geographically-dispersed teams.
- Experience managing creative agencies and of leading and managing marketing shoots is essential.
- Experience working with production companies and on original entertainment content is essential.

- Highly organised with excellent ability to prioritise, manage time and balance multiple projects or campaigns at one time
- Strong presentation, communication and stakeholder management skills, comfortable presenting to production partners, commissioners and senior internal stakeholders
- High level of attention to detail, with a creative eye
- Strong strategic marketing capabilities with the ability to read and use data to tell a story
- Passionate about entertainment
- Strong team player but with ability to also work autonomously and show initiative
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressured environment
