Attendance Officer

A successful Secondary School in the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham is seeking a dedicated and organised Attendance Officer to join its pastoral support team on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about improving attendance, supporting young people and making a meaningful contribution to student achievement. The successful candidate will work closely with pastoral leaders, senior staff, parents and external agencies to ensure excellent attendance and punctuality across the school.

You will monitor daily attendance, complete first-day absence procedures, maintain accurate attendance records and identify attendance trends requiring intervention. Working alongside Heads of Year and the safeguarding team, you will support students and families to overcome barriers to attendance while promoting a positive attendance culture throughout the school.

Responsibilities include preparing attendance reports for senior leaders, organising attendance meetings, maintaining records using Arbor or Bromcom, completing statutory attendance returns and communicating professionally with parents regarding attendance concerns.

You will also work collaboratively with external agencies where appropriate, support safeguarding procedures and contribute to the school's wider pastoral provision by helping students access the education they deserve.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, outstanding organisational abilities and the confidence to build positive relationships with students, families and colleagues while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
