The role
We’re looking for an agile, proactive People Manager to join our divisional People team. This is a brilliant opportunity to work alongside experienced People Business Partners, helping to implement strategic plans that actually make a difference.
You’ll be the first port of call for managers, providing comprehensive advice and helping them lead with confidence. Whether you’re reacting to a sudden business requirement or promoting an ITV-wide culture initiative, you’ll have the autonomy to make your mark, backed by a supportive team when you need it. Key responsibilities

Advisor to leaders and managers
- Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders to deliver successful business outcomes
- Act as critical friend and challenges the status quo
- Advise on ITV policy and process
- Support the implementation of a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (D,E & I) strategy, relevant to the business area, which complements the ITV D,E& I strategy and drives a culture of inclusion.
- Collaborate with HR Ops and Services, other HR colleagues, the centres of excellence (Resourcing, Reward, Learning and Development, Occupational Health and Diversity etc.) to ensure a comprehensive, seamless and efficient HR service
- Ensure that new/amended policies, procedures and toolkits are effectively communicated to relevant stakeholders to provide absolute clarity and consistency in the application of policies across the business.

Problem Solving and resolution
- Work with client groups and Business Partners to find solutions to problems.
- Understand the business area priorities and contribute to people plans aligned to our More than TV Strategy and our People Strategy

Organisational Design
- Deliver and supports the implementation of OD for the division
- Support changes and restructures as required

Projects and change
- Support delivery of projects and acts as an advocate for change

Employee Relations
- Guide, support and advise line managers through everyday HR situations
- Advise and support on long term and short term sickness absence
- Advise on where stress risk assessments might be appropriate and manages the process
- Manage occupational health referrals
- Advise and support managers on probation management, capability and performance management
- Advise on smart and flexible working
- Management of grievances and complaints (outside of People Relations team remit)
- Assess conflicts of interest including Personal Relationships At Work

Risk & Compliance
- Identify operational risk within the division
- Ensure effective implementation and compliance with our People policies e.g. Contracting & Compliance (CAC) and ensure all training is embedded.
- Ensure that regulatory and legal statutory requirements are met, continue to ensure relevant legal knowledge is maintained;

Data
- Take accountability for People data for business areas and use insights to influence decisions as needed.

Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to the People function’s quality and continuous improvement working in partnership with CofE’s to ensure a high quality, efficient and professional People service.
- Work with the wider HR team to help identify improvements to existing policies and procedures, and processes.
- Maintain a working knowledge of developments in employment law and HR best practice.
- Guides managers to use standard processes through people systems and processes
Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)
- HR generalist experience, preferably in a fast paced, high profile organisation
- Demonstrable experience in identifying and resolving employee relations risks and issues
- Ideally experience in working within a HR operating model utilising Centres of Excellence
- Experience of providing a proactive HR service
- Good working knowledge and understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice initiatives
- Some experience of delivering operational HR in a matrix environment
- Foundation in employment law and understanding of its application in a business context
