An ambitious and high-achieving Secondary School in Hammersmith & Fulham is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of English to lead their thriving department from September 2025. This is a key leadership opportunity for a motivated individual who is ready to shape curriculum, develop teaching practice, and drive exceptional outcomes in English across all key stages.

Head of English – The Role:

• Lead a successful, well-resourced English Department from KS3 through to KS5
  
• Deliver strategic leadership on curriculum design, assessment, and staff development
  
• Work as part of the wider middle and senior leadership teams to contribute to whole-school improvement
  
• Inspire and mentor a team of enthusiastic English teachers
  
• Permanent, full-time position starting September 2025
  
• Inner London Leadership Scale (dependent on experience)
  

Candidate Profile – Do You Fit the Role?

• UK QTS and a strong academic background in English Literature or Language
  
• Proven track record of excellent classroom teaching and pupil progress
  
• Experience in leading or supporting curriculum development and line management
  
• Ambitious, driven, and keen to contribute to a culture of high standards
  
• Committed to inclusive education and promoting a love of English among all students
  
• Enthusiastic about taking part in the wider life of the school
