Full-time
On-site
London, United Kingdom

Will It Make The Boat Go Faster? is a growing performance consultancy founded by Olympic Gold medallist Ben Hunt-Davis and Tom Barry, an experienced leadership development specialist. We take our proven Olympic-winning strategies and help clients apply them to their world to achieve their highest business and personal ambitions.

Since the business was founded in 2012, we have built a powerful brand, a great reputation and enabled huge client success.

We are excited to be looking for a highly experienced and capable facilitator with the desire, energy and skills to make a real difference to our clients and our business. Reporting to the Director of Consulting and working closely with the rest of the Will It Make The Boat Go Faster? team, you will be at the heart of our business.

The role of Principal Consultant

As a Principal Consultant, you will be fundamental to the future performance and growth of our business. You will lead on the delivery of our business performance, leadership, and team programmes, with a core focus on enabling Executive and Senior Leadership Teams to work both 'on the business' (around goals and strategy) as well as on themselves as teams and individuals. You will be:

  • Delivering business coaching and facilitation to the most senior individuals and teams, helping our clients to identify and agree on their own ‘Crazy Goal’, and then breaking down how they will get there.
  • Responsible for delivering programmes and workshops to clients. In most instances, be the lead, single facilitator. On other engagements, co-facilitate alongside another member of the Will It? team.
  • Providing occasional one-to-one coaching to executives and senior leaders.
  • Delivering and facilitating high-energy, well-organised workshops to senior executives and teams, both face-to-face and virtually. Combine clarity of process, storytelling, and great coaching questions.
  • Working collaboratively with the Sales team to provide input and subject matter expertise for proposals, in order to respond to client requirements.
  • Collaborating with the Client Services team to ensure effective handover between sales and delivery, to deliver the promised impact to clients.
  • Playing a key role in the continuous development and improvement of our products and services against our agreed business strategy.

Who we are looking for:

At the heart of the business is an inclusive, warm, driven, and progressive culture. It is no exaggeration to say our culture is the greatest single reason for our success, a critical stated aim is for everyone to enjoy their lives while working at Will It? Our people bring the desire, energy, intellectual curiosity, and skills that make a real difference to our business, and we are passionate about developing them to be the very best they can be.

We are looking for an experienced business coach and facilitator with a strong track record of facilitating senior business leaders to get to grips with strategic business challenges, and transforming the mindsets and behaviours required to overcome them.

We will expect you to demonstrate:

  • Strong experience in having business focused, strategic conversations with teams and individuals at the most senior levels of organisations to develop business goals and strategy.
  • Experience in delivering and facilitating director/manager workshops as part of strategically important programmes. These will include Leadership, High Performing Teams and key people development topics.
  • Prior experience working within a consulting or professional services organisation.
  • A coaching accreditation (ICF or EMCC) as part of 1:1 coaching within a programme or stand-alone coaching relationships.
  • Exceptional workshop facilitation skills, able keep bringing energy to a room even at 4pm on day two of a workshop.
  • Demonstrable track record of developing strong personal relationships with senior clients and maintaining these when they move roles or organisations.
  • Ability to run impactful and engaging sessions both virtually and face to face.
  • Able to lead, structure and manage projects that delight clients and inspire internal ‘crew mates’.
  • Strong research and client profiling skills. Demonstrable ability to weave knowledge into conversations and learning points that make workshops unique for clients.
  • Being a highly collaborative team player – no ego, wants to support others and buys in strongly to the collective goal.
  • An energised, straight forward and fun style. Intellectually curious, with an unwavering desire to be World Class for our business, our clients, and yourself.
